She has become extremely anxious when left alone and she would be best suited to a quiet and mature family who are around most of the day. Daisy is desexed and up to date with her vaccinations. Adoption fee: $600 Mini 2 year old Dachshund.
Snowy is a gorgeous affectionate mallie girl .She is slowly growing her beautiful coat back and would love a family where she can be with them. She is good with most dogs but can be a little selective so she would need to meet any doggie companion beforehand. Like most malamutes, she would not be suited to a home with cats or pocket pets. Snowy has had a rough start to life and needs a family who will be committed to her ongoing welfare. She has some hip issues which are being managed medically and will need an ongoing commitment to this management. AMRAA will pay the costs of this ongoing care.
How can you say no to these ears? Kastro is a Kelpie x Border Collie. 7 months old. Desexed, Microchipped, Vaccinated, Wormed, Lifetime Registered. He a friendly boy who gets along with most dogs. Has natural instincts around sheep and would make a great working dog but also HAS to be a family dog if working. Needs a big backyard, walks everyday and plenty of toys / play time. This gorgeous boy is full of love, smiles and cuddles.
Bella is a beautiful big girl (just as her name would suggest!) with a sweet and gentle temperament, super affectionate and social with people, children and other dogs. She loves going to the park or for a walk (where she walks beautifully on a loose lead), however she also LOVES relaxing and spending quiet time with her humans! Bella goes to the park each day for exercise and to play and socialise with other dogs. At 2 years old, she\'s got energy to burn and so she can sometimes be a bit excited when she first meets another dogs, but she settles down quickly once she has expended a little energy! After her morning walk to the park, she is calm and content to relax quietly at home, lounging in the sun! Bella is fully house trained, and is currently in foster care where she\'s been taught basic commands, and is enjoying ongoing training. Bella needs an active family (such as a young active couple) who can make sure she gets the exercise she needs and can also keep her training going. As Bella sometimes doesn\'t realise how big and excitable she can be, we\'d suggest she;s probably not ideal for a family with small, young children.

Olly has been through some ups and down in the last few years with a family break up and is currently living with Dad who works full time and knows that Olly is lonely. He is such a gorgeous boy who can’t wait for Dad to walk through the door so he’s got his company and lots of cuddles and attention, but its a long day for him on his own. Olly takes the award for the best housetrained dachshund we’ve ever heard of and has never had an accident in the house, not even when he was a puppy. Unfortunately Olly’s spine was operated on by Southpaws a couple of months ago and he has now completely recovered. On his last veterinary check the hospital gave him the all clear and no longer need to see him. The physios have also given him the all clear. Olly loves going for walks and frequently goes in the car for long trips to see his grandparents so he has no issues travelling. One of his favourite pastimes is chasing water bottles around the garden and he does like to disembowel squeaky toys, as these naughty dachshunds do! He would love to find a new home with another dachshund for company and either with a couple or older family who are mostly around during the day so he has their company. He is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. Only 8 months old. Please contact Sharman on 0412 619 266 [email protected]
Senji is a very sweet girl who enjoys her cuddles and human attention but would do best in an experienced arctic household. She is a cross between a Siberian Husky and Shar Pei. Senji is fine with some doggie companions but is selective with others so if you have a doggie companion, she would need to meet them first. Like all arctics Senji would not be suited to a house with cats and pocket pets.

***INDOOR ONLY KITTIES *** ***BONDED PAIR*** Inca & Xanadu aren't siblings, but they are very much a bonded pair. Inca was born 11.02.15 and Xanadu 10.07.16. Poor Xanadu had a really rough start adn then, after he came to us, his mum rejected him. She's been traumatized by tom cats and didn't want anything to do with her kitten. Xanadu kept approaching her for affection but she just whacked him :-( Then we moved Xanadu to live with another carer who had just rescued Inca. Inca took a shine to Xanadu and took him under his wing, giving him all the love he had craved from his mum. They are inseparable now, so we will never tear them apart. They are both very gentle, quiet and sweet natured cats. It has taken us a while to gain their trust, and you should allow 3-6 months before both of them settle and become relaxed around you. Both of them are flighty and easily startled, particularly by shouting or running, so they would be best suited to a quiet home. Ideally they could have access to a human-free space like a spare room or outside enclosure for them to retreat to when they get startled or guests visit. You can tell that they’ve had a hard start to life; they are both very easily contented with regular meals and a safe place to sleep. They will entertain you all day with their frequent play fights and adorable grooming sessions. There will certainly be work for their new owners to gain their trust, but it’s an amazing feeling when you do and they join you on the sofa for a cuddle or sleep on the bed with you through the night. Their vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Mareeba. BIN0000171254640 Adoption fee is $200 for the pair.

Scamp is a young at heart 10 years old Tenterfield Terrier X who came into care after being rescued from being confined in a bird enclosure along with his partner Charlotte for an unknown period of time. Scamp’s partner has found a loving home but sadly Scamp was kept in foster care as he was having severe seizures from the time he was rescued. Scamp has now been seizure free for just over three months and is ready to find his own loving home where he can be a part of the family. It is essential that Scamp finds a committed family who will ensure he continues to take his anti - seizure medication twice daily and also be on the lookout for any further seizure activity and seek veterinary care as required. Scamp has always had another small canine friend in his life so it is essential his adoptive family has another small, suitable doggie companion that Scamp can spend his life with. He is a friendly little man who loves being patted and fussed over by his human family; something he appears to have missed out in his previous life. Scamp occasionally joins in a little game of wrestle or chase with the other foster dogs, especially the ones that he has formed a strong connection with…. Usually the girls, as he is a bit of a lady’s man! Scamp’s other interests include going for walks, sleeping, cuddles and food. Oh boy, he loves his food! It is very important though that he does not over indulge as he is prone to gaining weight easily. Scamp is an all round sweet little man who has an easy care coat; he usually settles well in the car on drives and doesn’t bark excessively. He is housetrained also. Scamp has an abundance of love to give and seeks very little in return but the same. If you can give this dear little dog a loving, forever home for the first time in his life, he is waiting to meet you at Metford, NSW; Date of Birth: 09/10/2005

She'll take a while to venture out to get to know her new home but, once she feels confident, she'll be right out there looking for your love and attention. She's OK with other cats and dogs, but prefers to play with her toys without their interference. She's going to be a wonderful companion. Her adoption fee is $150 which includes desexing, micro chip registration, two vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Herberton.

***ADOPTION FEE REDUCED TO $100*** ***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Cinnamon was born in December 2015. The litter has been rescued from a workshop in Cairns industrial area. The owner of the workshop was happy to have them there and then the business closed down leaving the kittens with no home. She is a gentle, quiet young female cat who loves a cuddle but is quite content just to be close by. Her adoption fee is $100.00 which covers desexing, the micro chip implant, vaccinations and all worm/flea treatment. Meet and greet in Cairns
Meet Mimco and Lulu. The most beautiful duo you ever did see. They enjoy taking naps next to each other, fruit treats and cuddles that make them feel secure. These beautiful buns have been through a lot. They would suit a home that would allow them to be free range inside bunnies (theyre litter trained!) or somewhere with lots and lots of supervised grass time outside as being in a hutch stresses them out. They are shy while they get to know you but their gorgeous personalities really shine when they are happy running about and doing some binkies. We enjoy gentle pats and eating treats out of our humans hands. Some of our favourite foods are carrot, banana and baby spinach leaves. Mimco and Lulu are a bonded pair $150 for the pair Medical notes All vet work up to date, desexed and vaccinated
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Toast was born 30.07.15. Toast is a rescue kitten found with her Mum in the light industrial area. She was named Toast because when she first came Cinnamon washed and cuddled her and helped her to settle. So Cinnamon and Toast seemed to fit. Bright, playful kitten but still loves to snuggle at night. Toast is all ginger on both sides just like a lightly toasted slice of bread!! Toast has a sponsor, so her adoption fee is reduced to $50 and she is desexed, micro chipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated. Meet and greet in Cairns.

hese little characters are still babies and are the most joyful piggies ever! They get along with older females and other young females. Not only are they amazing at mowing your lawn, they also provide lots of entertainment as they sing for their food and popcorn in the sprinkler on hot days! they quickly adapted to our routine here and they are easy to pick up and cuddle! As they are still very small babies it is not advised for children under 8yrs to adopt. Both girls are flea and mite treated piggies for $50. Medical notes All healthy flea and more treated.

His coat is a stunning mix of blacks, whites and greys. Both piggies enjoy a variety of foods, the have their favourites but generally enjoy everything and all food they are given disappears. They enjoy the outdoors and and have no issues getting that lawn to a shorter length. They are a new couple still getting to know each other and day by day becoming the best of friends. Our gorgeous Peppa is on the look out for a fun-loving, active, doggy loving home to call her own. This baby is quite a catch with all the Cattle Dog traits you want. Super smart, extra loyal, robust, cheeky and eager to bond with her very own human. Peppa is learning her manners while in foster care. She is nearly toilet trained, walks very well on lead, travels quietly in the car and sits well for her dinner. Her cheeky side means her forever family will need to continue her training to make sure she knows they are in charge. She is an active girl so will need daily walks, plenty of play time and would benefit from having a well matched doggy companion. Peppa gets along well with most dogs but can play quite rough like most of her breed. She can share her home with a well matched doggy companion but is not suited to off lead dog parks as she can get over stimulated and bossy with poorly socialised dogs. She doesn\'t need a doggy friend though especially if her humans take her for plenty of walks and other adventures.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Callisto was born approximately 02.11.16. She was impounded with her baby boy and offered up for rehoming. Her baby is now enjoying a pampered life as a show kitty in Victoria and we'd love to see Callisto just as pampered in her forever home. She is a beautiful cream torti with an adorable nature. She's very friendly and loves a gentle hand stroking her. Now her maternal duties are done, she is deserving of a quiet, placid life with someone who will make her their princess. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment and she has been tested FIV negative. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa. ***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Daisy was born approximately 26.12.17 and was surrendered to the pound along with her mum Camelot and her 6 siblings. All of her siblings are big, fluffy kittens, but Daisy is a tiny little girl with the most unusual colours in her coat. Sometimes we think we have a little mouse running around the house but, when she stays still long enough, she reveals her true beauty. Daisy is a bit hand shy, which is baffling since all her siblings love being picked up. She does respond to gentle handling, but she probably wouldn't be comfortable with small children. The best way to win Daisy over is by playing with teasers for her to try to catch, as she loves a game. So much so that she is very clever at entertaining herself if she has a little fluffy ball or bell to toss around. She's the sweetest little thing. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa. *** BONDED PAIR *** ***INDOOR ONLY KITTIES *** Gloria (the black and white kitty) and Gerrad her tabby brother, were born approximately 15.11.17. These two babies were rescued by Southside Vets and are totally together. These kittens are just adorable. They\\\'re Potty trained and their playfulness is a delight to watch. When they crash, its time for bonding and snuggles. Very loving and with good manners , they love watching the rain outside the windows together, but they don\\\'t bolt for the door when open. They are both quite happy being inside pampered fur babies. Because they grew up with Mitsy the puppy, who outgrew them, they are very good with dogs. They\\\'ve been well socialized and would be great with a young family who knows a bit about having kittens in the house and how to treat them. All their vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Cairns. If you\\\'d like to know more about adopting this cuties, please message the page or email [email protected] BIN0000171254640 Adoption fee is $200 for the pair
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Camelot was born approximately 12.11.16. She was surrendered to the pound with seven babies in tow and offered up for rehoming. Camelot has been the very best mumma cat ever and is still caring for her last little kitten. Unlike most torties, Camelot seems so grateful for being rescued that she can't give you enough love and affection. She adores smooches and enjoys being picked up and carried about. Not a sign of that naughty torti reputation. She is such a delight to have around. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment and she has been tested FIV negative. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa. Are you looking for your best friend? Do you need someone to greet you at the door when you get home? Do you enjoy having a furry friend follow you around everywhere? Including while you're in the bathroom? Do you need a new alarm clock? Do you need someone to chat to when you home from a long day of work? Do you need someone to snuggle up with you and an excuse to sleep in? If you answered yes to all of these then Corvette is the girl for you! Corvette is a super beautiful young girl who is looking for her best friend. Unfortunately this needs to be an adult human as she is not a huge fan of children and she can be a bit mean to other cats. If you currently have a fairly empty house then Corvette will quickly change that! She is very affectionate and loves to be with you wherever you are, twisting between your legs, head butting your hands or occasionally giving you a cheeky lick on the nose! She likes to play at times but is equally happy to just lounge about while you are out. Corvette is currently located in Tarneit
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Willow was born 01.09.17. She is an exquisite little blue cream torti who is very shy when strangers come to her house, but is very affectionate and smoochy once she learns to trust. She's great with other cats and little dogs adn will really make a wonderful companion given time to adjust. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Cairns.
Let me introduce the lovely Kumara. She is the sweetest most affectionate kitten. When she came into care she was so terrified she would just run, you would only see a little multicolored flash and she would be gone! She has since come out of her shell and while still a little timid, she is very friendly! Kumara has not shown too much interest in toys as of yet, but instead craves more affection and when you really get her going, she purrs so hard that she squeaks! She likes the company of other cats too, and is being slowly introduced to the resident greyhound, whom she doesn’t seen to mind at all so far! Kumara is a quiet cat who would settle in best to a quiet home. She may do well in a house with older kids, who can understand she needs a gentle hand. She would certainly enjoy a house with another cat, as long as that cat is accepting, and a gentle dog would also be ok!
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Angus was born 20.11.17. This lucky little boy and his two siblings were found and taken to Southside Vets where they were nursed until foster homes were found for them. All His vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Cairns. ***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Candice was born approximately 31.10.15. She was impounded and offered up for rehoming. Candice is a gorgeous calico torti with light green eyes. Like most torties, she has a bit of attitude but, on the whole, is a very pleasant girl. She likes attention and will come to you for a pat and to say hello. If her rights are respected, she will be a wonderful companion cat that's also beautiful to look at. Just remember that she will let you (and your resident cats and dogs) know if you've overstepped her boundaries. Let's be honest, aren't most cats like that and, isn't that what we love about them so much ? All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment and she has been tested FIV negative. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa. He's super friendly and affectionate and loves sleeping and snuggling in bed at night time which his hoomans will love because he's so soft and silky. But be aware he will go straight to the door to escape if you're not very careful to check where he is when you open it. Name AMY Desexed: Yes Gender: Female Vaccinated: Yes Breed: Domestic Short Hair Micro chipped: Yes DOB: March 2015 FeLV/FIV Tested: Yes and negative Colour: Tabby Location: Mt Druitt NSW Adoption fee: $100 Description My name is Amy, my foster mum has been loving me since I was just 5 weeks old. I\'m now 3 years old and after watching my 4 litter mates find their forever homes I find myself dreaming of the day where I will find someone to love me forever and beyond as well. My foster mum says she does not understand why no one has picked me yet but she also says that all good things come to those who wait. \\ I\'ve proven to be gentle and affectionate, not a mean bone in my body. I get along well with the other cats and the dogs and I\'m no trouble at all. I just know that my forever home is out there somewhere. Mum has always kept me safe inside with access to the outdoor enclosure, I really like to lay in the hammocks in the sun or in the grass under the logs but I can also be found snuggled up on a bed inside with one of my foster mates. We would prefer a home that can keep me indoors where I will be safe. I would like the company of another friendly cat but I think I would also do well on the lap of someone who had the time to spend with me. Mum has had all my vetwork done , the desexing, vaccinations and micro chipping as well as having me tested for FeLV and FIV to which I am negative. Name CARLY Desexed: Yes Gender: Female Vaccinated: Yes Breed: Domestic Short Hair Micro chipped: Yes DOB: April 2016 FeLV/FIV Tested: Yes and negative Colour: Blue and White Location: Mt Druitt NSW Adoption fee: $100 Description Carly My name is Carly and I've been in foster care since I was just 5 weeks old. My foster mum took my 4 litter mates and myself into care nearly 2 years ago, we were so scared of everyone and everything. I remember we would all hiss and spit when mum would feed and care for us but she never gave up on any of us and in time we learnt to trust humans again. 3 of my litter mates have since found their forever homes and it is just Zach and I who are still waiting for the right home to come along. I would like to stay with my brother Zach if possible as he still needs me. He is very affectionate and will throw himself on his back for a belly rub, he's great at head butts too but he does get very scared when people pick him up. Me on the other hand, I love my cuddles and like Zach I will throw myself on my back for a good long belly rub also. Mum has told me a few times that I tend to go a little over board with the affection, I just cant help myself and need to show my people just how much I love them. I really like to meet new people and I'm usually the 1st one to introduce myself, I can be a bit of a social butterfly. I really enjoy the company of other cats and love my doggy companions too. Mum has kept Zach and I indoors in the safety of our foster home but we have had access to an outdoor enclosure, neither of us like to be outside in open spaces, we prefer to be inside where it is safe. Mum made sure our vetwork was done long ago, Zach and I are both desexed, vaccinated and micro chipped and we have been tested for FeLV and FIV and are both negative. Name BAMBI Desexed: Yes Gender: Female Vaccinated: Yes Breed: Domestic Short Hair Micro chipped: Yes DOB: 2012 FeLV/FIV Tested: Yes and negative Colour: Blue torty Location: Guildford West NSW Adoption fee: $100 Description Hi there, my name is Bambi and I'm looking for my forever home. Id like to tell you a little about me if I may. A couple of years ago sadly I found myself surrendered to the pound after my owner could not afford to pay for the dental I so desperately needed. My mouth was so sore that I had trouble eating and started to lose weight, things were looking dim for me and I did not know what my future held but thankfully a lady from Butterfly Wings Animal Rescue agreed to help me and rescued me from the pound, she arranged for me to have a dental done straight away. I did loose all my teeth but that is ok as now I have no pain and it has not stopped me from eating at all and I do love my food! I'm living with my foster family in Guildford West and I have a foster friend here to play with as well. I do enjoy the company of another cat but sometimes I find it hard to get along with others. Cleo is understanding of that as she is similar to me but we respect each others space yet still find time in between naps and eating to play a little as well :) I don't mind dogs but I'm happier when they show no interest in me, I don't really like it when they get all up in my face. I'm most happy when I can share my carers lap and love to share her bed as well. I have proven myself to be very loving and affectionate. My foster mum tells me all the time that my forever home will come my way soon, I really hope so because whilst I'm happy with my foster family I do look forward to the day where I can finally relax and be care free in my forever home with my forever family. The kind lady who rescued me from the pound made sure that I was desexed, vaccinated and micro chipped. My foster mum makes sure that I'm always parasite free too. For inquiries or to apply to adopt please call or text Sue-Anne on 0423108466, email or apply at www.butterflywingsanimalrescue.org
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY *** Tammy was born 04.06.16 and was rescued from Tolga Pound when her owner couldn't be found. Tammy is such a darling kitty who is most unusually sweet natured for a torti. She is not at all shy and loves all the attention she can get. Tammy would fit into a family with any number of kids, cats and dogs as she seems to be happy just to be safe and loved. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Tic Tac was born 12.06.16. Tic Tac has raised her babies and is ready to retire into her own family home. She does spend a lot of her day sleeping on the couch or high up on the scratching post and would prefer to be the only cat in the household so she can rule the roost, but she might accept a canine who lives outside. Tic Tac has a lovely nature. She doesn’t seek affection but is always happy to receive it when given. Mama (as we call her) doesn’t sleep on your bed but will sleep in your room if the door is opened. Mama would not be suited to a household with young children as she gets stressed when kids are being loud and in her face. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Atherton.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Quimby was born 04.03.18 in the great outdoors. The litter was abandoned by mum when the kits were just weaners and they were hand raised by the caring family who found them until they came to us at about 5 weeks. Every one of the kittens has been affectionate from the start. Quimby is the most adventurous and playful but when he's tired, he needs a cuddle too. These babies have been an absolute pleasure to raise. All the vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment. They will need to go back to Ulysses vets for their second vaccination. Meet and greet in Cairns.
Hi, I'm Jaco! I looove playing - I don't mind whether it's chasing my brother Jimi, my own tail or any toy that makes a noise. I'm pretty confident around other animals and like exploring. All the playing wears me out, so I also spend a lot of time napping. I like sleeping on/near humans if the opportunity arises, and sometimes licking their hands and toes to keep them clean. As my brother hogs all the attention, I'm a bit more shy, but my foster mum says this makes it more rewarding when I give her a cuddle. Located in Preston
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Tori was born 18.01.17. Tori has had an incredibly rough and sad start to her life, including the miscarriage of her litter of kittens. It took her foster carers a long time to win her trust over, but finally Tori is content with and, seeking affection from her humans. Tori would be best suited to a very quiet family with no children who don’t want a “lap cat”. Tori enjoys sleeping on your bed but does not go out of her way for other forms of affection. Tori is a friendly cat who is easy to bath and travels well. She does not like dogs and has terrible social skills with other cats which often leads to them fighting. Tori’s story is truly heartbreaking and this young girl deserves an amazing home and family to call her own. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Atherton.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY *** Regalo was born 16.02.17. Regalo is Italian for "present" and this boy was "gifted" to us to rehome because he is a bird killer. Well nto anymore because he's adapted very well to being an indoor only kitty. Regalo is very keen to get all the attention from his humans, so he can be a bit feisty with other cats although he doesn't want to fight with them, just wants them to let him be in the center. He's a lovely boy and will be a beautiful gift for his new family members. His coat is long, but doesn't shed much and is beautiful to touch. All his vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. He has been FIV tested and is negative. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTIES *** Jemima (black) and JoJo were born 8.01.18. Until they were rescued, Jemima and JoJo had been living under the deck of a restaurant in the Cairns CBD with their mum and their brother, who have both since been adopted. Jemima started off as a shy bundle of fluff, but she is now a playful, outgoing kitten. She loves company whether it be in the form of her current humans or her two very large foster cat brothers and if she joins your family you can expect to find her behind you everywhere you go! While Jojo may have had a rough start, don’t let those sad eyes fool you, she’s a walking purr factory that loves nothing more than a cuddle when she’s not playing with her fur sister and foster brother or walking on her human’s keyboard. Ideally we''d love to see these sisters stay together as they are good company for each other. All their vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Cairns.

I currently have 2 wicked step sisters who I would love to play with, but they have not been very welcoming. If you would like to meet me with the view to a long term relationship please contact the lovely people at ARCAT. I am desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Looking forward to meeting you soon!! Love, Celeste. Meet Slinky! Mr Slinks is probably one of the most outgoing and well adjusted kittens I've fostered. He has grown up in a house with 3 dogs and another cat for company. Things get a bit busy with so many pets, but Slinky takes it all in his stride. He particularly loves my youngest dog, they groom each other and play endlessly and Slinky loves to share food with my adult cat. As he is still young, he is very energetic and has energy to burn. Slinky loves his toys! His favourite toys are cardboard box cubbies and a feather teaser toy which he will chase and stalk this for ages then carries his 'kill' off to bed once caught. A scratching post is a must, he loves using his scratching post and will often play and sleep on it. He adores the company of his humans and purrs as soon as he gets attention, he is very affectionate. Once he has had his play time for the night, he loves to cuddle on the couch and if he is lucky, he'll happily share the bed with you at night. Slinky is pure white and his pink skin is very prone to sun burn. Because of this, Slinky would be best suited to an indoors only lifestyle with only limited time outside on a cat harness and lead or in a sheltered cat run. Slinky is located in Werribee Microchip number: 900141000017935
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Clarissa was born 18.05.16. Does everyone remember this tiny little mum and her 8 kittens surrendered to the pound ? We wondered how she managed to raise so many kittens because she was very tiny, thin and frail. But lots of TLC and good food made her strong and she never once looked like giving up on her kits. In fact she demanded to be allowed to feed them all even when she was unwell. What a little trooper. Clarissa is a very affectionate girl although a little food obsessed . . but who could blame her for that. At first she hated the dogs, but since her babies have grown up and left home, she's come to tolerate them. She's great with other cats and shows no signs of aggression towards all ages. She has a funny little face with a slight overshot jaw but the most amazing big yellow eyes and she's not one to look away in fear when you look straight into them. Anyone looking for a talkative, interactive, smoochy black cat will just love this young mum. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment and she has tested negative to FIV. In foster care in Millaa Milllaa. If you'd like to know more about adopting this beautiful girl, please email [email protected]
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Minti was born approx 23.09.17. He was found close to the highway hungry and worm ridden but nevertheless super friendly and affectionate towards his rescuers. He had another younger kitten with him and at first everyone thought it was mum and bub they were so "cozy" together. But they were both boys and still great friends. Minti has a lovely temperament. He's not overly demanding, very nice manners and has a way of gently tugging at your sleeve when he wants either food or attention. He gets on very well with other cats of all ages adn encourages them to lie with him when he wants to rest. He would be a fantastic companion cat for a quiet household where there is a good chance he may be mistaken for an ancient cat God and treated accordingly. Very elegant, very soft and sleek and the most beautiful mesmerizing yellow eyes. All his vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment. In foster care in Milala Millaa.
Say Hi to Bear 4 years old. Bear is a sweetie, who would believe this boy is shy and a nervous. Bear is currently at our Training Centre but its time for him to go into care with a family. We have noticed he is better with female dogs, he seems to be more confident around them. He is good with males just prefers females. If you leave Bear in your yard when you go out he will jump your fence. But if you are happy to leave him inside the house he is happy as Larry. At this stage we are looking for a foster carer GSD Experience preferred Conditions of Adoption: To ensure Bear transitions well into his new environment. His new family will be taught training techniques by one of our lovely trainers at the K9 Training and Rehabilitation Centre. We need to ensure Bear's new family continue her training in her new home.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY *** Yvette was born 29.09.17 and was rescued from the engine well of a hire car. She's as pretty as a picture with her wild coat pattern part ticked tabby, part stripes, salmon highlights and white socks, chest and boots. Her temperament is playful, cheeky but sweet. She likes to rough it up with her playmate Siri and then spends a lot of time trying to learn to type on the desk or just laying on top of the paperwork interfering with our work. She loves playing with water so much so that if you need to know where she is, just turn the tap on and she magically appears beside the tap. She became best buddies with a Whippet puppy for a while and missed her terribly when she was adopted. Ideally she'd be best with a home with children older than 7 and preferably with another happy cat and a cat friendly doggy to play with. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Velda was born 19.03.18. She is a fun, confident, friendly kitten who is happy to play with the resident cats and the human kids. Velda is a small, light kitten quite oriental looking with a long trail. She is busy and sociable, jumps up to say hello then off again. Happy to be carried about the house but gets bored with just being on your lap if you’re not being interesting. All her vetwork is done which includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, worm & flea treatment. If you'd like to know more about adopting this gorgeous girl, please email [email protected]
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Twisty was born 02.05.18 just one day after her mum was rescued off the highway. What a surprise when this lovely young girl presented us with three tiny little bubs. Twisty is just a tiny girl but she's very confident and friendly. We would love to see her and Tibbie adopted together as they do seek each other out for games and cuddle buddies. We're calling for expressions of interest only at this stage as she hasn't seen our vet or been desexed yet. We expect she'll be ready for her new home in a week or so. If you'd like to know more about adopting this kitty, please send a message to the page because we don't monitor the myriad comments. Or you can email [email protected]

***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Sushi was born 12.06.17 and she and her little sister were rescued and transported to us by a very caring local laws officer from Charters Towers Council. They came to us as orphans and Sushi nurtured her tiny sister until she was out of the woods. Sushi is the most adorable of kitties. She is quick to make friends with new animals in the house and plays until she drops. Then she'll seek out her human friends purring and kneading until she is ready to sleep. Her coat is adorably soft and silky to touch and Sushi is one of those rare confident cats who will make eye contact with you and hold your attention as long as she likes. Sushi is in foster care in Atherton. If you'd like to know more about adopting this beautiful girl, please email [email protected]

Tibbie is so tiny and sweet. she has a real love of her humans, her sister and brother and her mum. We would love to see her and Twisty adopted together as they are quite cozy in each others company. This is our beautiful girl Lado. She is just over 2 years old but still looks like a kitten as she's not a big eater so is lean and slim, but is really playful and great with kids. Lado loves to relax and sleep on our lap, she curls up with with me in my blanket on the couch... so very cute... She's quite timid at first - and a bit of a scardy cat around other cats, so her forever home would preferably be free of other pets. She has always been indoor kitty and loves being around her human family. Our gorgeous Lado is currently located in Werribee. Send us an enquiry to meet her. Microchip number: 956000004292348
I am Silver Fox A gentle boy. I was very reserved at the shelter but came out of my shell very quickly in a home environment...I was playing with toys, hanging out on the beds, living the best life! I'm undoubtedly handsome, and if my shy nature at the shelter puts you off please ask the staff to see the videos. I really am a lovely boy, I just need a home-not a cattery! Could yours be the home for me?!?!
“ FINE COTTON” now there is a name that rings a bell . However, this Fine Cotton is a registered , purebred greyhound and not a race horse and she is now affectionately known as “Stella “ . Stella is a very pretty , jet black , former super model and although she was born and bred into the racing industry she now ‘struts her stuff’ as an elegant socialite of the canine world in Cairns . Having just turned seven on 29th June this stunning girl has kept her figure , looks ( and ears ) . You would think that she was a two year old except her microchip says different . Stella is a very gentle , easy going girl who would suit almost any home that will give her the type of life that she has become accustomed to (as Lounge Lizard !!! ) She wouldn’t mind babysitting another canine friend if you already have one and could possibly be feline friendly as well ( yet to be properly tested though ) but most of all she would be thrilled to bits to have some humans to dote on her every need . Kids are very welcome in this girls world but careful supervision with toddlers because she is bigger than them and they may be accidentally knocked over . She will loyally lay at your feet and watch tv on these damp winter evenings or snuggle on the couch . You see Stella is very affectionate ( aren’t all greyhounds?) and has been brought up with manners . She won’t slobber on her humans like some doggos do .( may occasionally dribble on the floor when asleep though - hey ! you can’t have everything ) . Stella is fun to play with ( for about 10 minutes ) and likes to go for a walk most days to keep in shape . In reality it doesn’t have to be far . 15/20 minutes is usually enough for this former sprinter . . But don’t be mistaken , Stella has plenty of years left in her to keep you company . Greyhounds usually live to between 12-14. She is such a delight to have around , according to her foster carer who can’t fault her . All of her vetwork has been completed and includes desex, microchip, vaccinations, heart worm tested negative and flea/worm treatment. If you'd like to know more about adopting this lovely Greyhound, please email [email protected] BIN 0000171254640
I'm tremendously shy and looking for a home where I can be given space and time to grow out of my shell. I need someone who is experienced, loves cats, will treat me as a long term project and not be offended if I hiss at them every now and then. I love it when my foster mum plays with me under the couch, teasing me with the feather or mouse on a string. To say thanks, I send her blinks. When my foster mum is working from home, I'm now brave enough to observe from a distance. Please come and meet me if your up for the challenge. I do get along with my very friendly foster brother, so would like it if you have friendly fur children too. Microchip number: 900141000017926
Bagheera I am a shy guy that loves to snuggle on the bed. I love pats but will let you know when I have had enough. I love playing with my brother Baloo. We are great mates. I love my other fur brothers and sisters, even the ones my foster mum calls dogs. I am a great hider, my foster mum loves playing hide and seek with me, I win a lot and have to eventually let her know where I am. Bagheera is located in Pakenham. Microchip number: 900141000018554
Hi there I am looking for an owner who is willing to work with me to build my confidence. With the right person and a little guidance I will grow to be a loving and loyal companion. I may need a little time but will make it worth your efforts, gain my trust and I promise I will reward you with more love and affection than you could ever need!!
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Unity was born 28.04.18 along with six siblings. The whole family were surrendered to Cairns Pound when the bubs were only a few weeks old. Mum was struggling to support herself and her babies but they all survived with the help of humans and another mum with only 3 babies of her own. All the kittens are friendly, playful and adorable. Unity is one of the bigger, more confident ones and she's great fun to play with. We're calling for expressions of interest only at this stage as she hasn't seen our vet or been desexed yet. We expect she'll be ready for her new home in a week or so. If you'd like to know more about adopting this kitty, please email [email protected]
Mumbles I am a mummy cat. I was rescued with my babies. I love my babies but they annoy me and I mumble at them. I have just started to trust my hoomans and let them pat me. I have decided this is a nice thing and I like it. I'm very quiet and keep to myself, but I silently follow my foster mum around the house. I sleep on a chair at the end of the bed, it has a nice blanket on it. I'm not very sure about visitors in my house yet so I hide. But I'm getting much better. Mumbles is located in Pakenham. COBBER - ID 13858 - STAFFY X - MALE - DOB 17/02/2017. Cobber is an enthusiastic, cheeky character who is currently on the look out for his forever home. His partner in crime will be someone who is active, can offer him at least one walk a day and will take him on weekend adventures. Due to his size, Cobber's forever home will not have young children as he can be quite strong and tends to jump up when excited. Cobber gets along with some dogs but ideally would love a home where he can be the centre of attention. Cobber is a very lovable young boy and loyal to those he considers his friends and family. Come visit him at the shelter.
Hi there, I'm a super friendly lady that just loves a chat, playing and people! I love cuddles and there is lots of me to love. I am very eager to please but sometimes I get a bit too excited and forget my manners. If you are interested in me, please talk to a staff member today and come say hi!
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY *** Nasreen was born approx 01.08.16. She's a sweet little blue cream torti who gave birth to her two babies, Violet and Velda, in a neighbor's yard when she was frightened by dogs. The kind neighbor offered to rescue her and her babies and her owner agreed. Now she's safe and sound and just yearning to have a caring family to love her. Nasreen wants to give and receive affection, cuddles and smooching and is now comfortable with being indoors only. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment and she has tested negative to FIV. In foster care in Cairns. If you'd like to know more about adopting this beautiful girl, please email [email protected]
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Miranda was born 01.12.16. This beautiful young girl was rescued off the highway in a very poor state. The morning after she arrived, she presented us with three tiny babies which she doted on. They've all grown up with her beautiful personality. She was such a lovely mum and even helped Clarissa raise her 8 babies, taking over the cleaning and feeding when it was all too much for her to cope with. Now most of the babies have flown the nest and she's ready to settle down with a new family who will appreciate her loving nature. Miranda is very calm, friendly and smoochy. She gets on with all our animals, dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. She's very patient with kids too and will make someone a gorgeous bed warmer. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment and she has tested negative to FIV. In foster care in Millaa Milllaa. If you'd like to know more about adopting this beautiful girl, please email [email protected]
Hi there! My name’s Bluebell and I’m petite, and charming little girl with plenty of personality. I know I’ve been winning the hearts lots of volunteers here at GR HQ! I’m a little bit shy about this big wide world so I’d do best in a quieter neighbourhood, and if you have another doggie friend to help show me the ropes and give me a bit of courage, I’d really like that. If you’re a sweet girl like me, get in touch at [email protected]
***INDOOR ONLY CAT *** Clawdius was born approximately 07.06.16. Unfortunately Clawdius has had a rough start to his life as he suffered terrible injuries to two of his feet, Front right and Back left (see Xrays) which have healed poorly prior to his being surrendered to us. His mobility is limited somewhat but he seems to be handling himself quite well and is not in pain. As if that wasn't enough, somewhere during his roaming days has met with a tom who injured him severely enough for him to have contracted FIV. Clawdius is the least deserving of this disease as he is the most casual, tolerant and laid back boy around other cats. He would not have been the aggressor, but some cat took advantage of his good nature to spring a severe bight on him. But Clawdius is so lucky because FIV doesn't have to be a death sentence, but it does mean that to ensure a long, happy life he needs to be kept indoors only where he can't be coming into contact with cats that might be carrying other diseases, as his weakened immune system makes him vulnerable. He'll need to be kept on a very healthy raw diet to protect his immune system as much as possible but generally shouldn't need medication and can live a long life. He doesn't necessarily need a cat free home either, just to live with cats who don't fight and so not infect them. He's not a fighter . He simply ignores a cat who might challenge him. He shares his food with other friendly cats and just turns his back and walks away from fights. Every girl's dream man really. He loves attention and will make a lovely companion because he's not demanding and just as happy to lay on a rug or a chair nearby as have pats and brushes. He is just the most gorgeous big, gentle cat who deserves to be loved. All his vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa. If you'd like to know more about adopting an FIV kitty, please email [email protected]
Hi, I’m Maggie and my personality more than makes up for my petite size! I’m a bit of a princess who loves being the center of attention, so a family without other pets would be best so that you can lavish me with love, cuddles, and don’t forget all my favourite treats! I’m not used to the hustle and bustle of the city, so a home in the suburbs would suit me far better. Little humans are okay though – more love for me! Can you spoil a little princess like me? Get in touch at [email protected]
Say Hi to Bella In real life she is a beautiful looking girl, we just haven\'t been able to capture that in a photo. Bella is a happy girl who settles so quickly into new environments. She loves children, Bella is naturally gentle. Bella is very easy going, she is happy to go for a walk or sit on the couch and keep you company. She is also very clever, she is happy to sit and wait until she is told to eat her dinner. She can also sit, drop and come. Bella is house trained but is happy to sleep inside or out. She can be a bit of a bed hog if given the opportunity. But with the cold weather that could be a good thing. You wont go cold with Bella near you. Her foster carer told me \"The day Bella arrived in our care she fitted in like she had been living here forever\" Bella is A lovely girl looking for a loving family to call her own. Bella is NOT SUITABLE to be rehomed with another female dog. She gets along great with male dogs. If you love staffy\'s you will love Bella!
Say Hi to Duke The pound told us he was a cattle dogx, so I suppose he is a staffy x. Duke was the rangers favourite at one of the country pounds we take dogs from. We promised we would find him an amazing family. Duke is great with puppys and was called the puppy king whilst in the pound as he loved to play. He is very gentle boy and has learnt to be gentle when taking a treats. Duke is currently learning his basic commands. He has mastered sit so far. He loves a human cuddle. He is very dog friendly. Here is your new best friend :)
Hi there! My name is Indiana! I was sadly found as a stray and no one came looking for me, but I am now on the search for my forever home! I'm a friendly and excitable young girl looking for a family that love to laugh and play. I would do well with a family that love adventure and are willing to take me out and about with them. With a little guidance I will grow to be a well mannered girl.
Hi I’m Betty and I’m Pet of the Week! I’m a petite little girl who’s light on her toes and heavy on the smooching. All you will want to do is love me – yep, that I can be sure of! I am great with kiddies and small doggies, but I’m really mostly interested in people – I mean, that’s where the cuddles are, right? I’m best suited to a home where someone is home much of the time. Maybe you’ve retired or you work from home? Whatever your situation, it’ll be better with me in it! I’m just an all-round sweet and affectionate girl with plenty of love to give… and if you have a nice spot on the couch for me, I wouldn’t say no to that either! What do you say? If you’re ready to get smooches from a sweet girl like me get in touch at [email protected]!
🐾🐶🐾 This beautiful boy is part of the Lion King Litter. He is available for pre-adoption as he won’t be available to go to his forever home until his vet work is completed at 12 weeks. Hey! My name is Rafiki 😜 I’m one of the bigger guys in my pack (I’m not too far behind chubbs, or Pumbaa as humans call him). My human mum laughs every time I run around because she thinks my paws are nearly as big as my head 🙃 I’m sure I’ll grow into them! But I’ll definitely be a big boy when I grow up! I love running around the yard and playing with anything that looks like a shoe! (I’m trying to give them up though). 🐾 These puppies will likely be large size 🐾
Hey I'm Harry, My brothers and I were found and looked after by a good samaratan before we came to RSPCA. Aren't we lucky?! I'm a cruisy kind of guy...just looking for a laid back lifestyle, I play as if I'm a kitten but also sometimes pretend I'm a tiger! And if you're looking for a fearsome looking warrior to laze around your house...you cant really go past me!
TOOTSIE - ID 14004 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 02/11/2017 I was left behind in a rental property so this time I would like the home that will be my forever home. I don't really like sharing with the other cats so I think it would be better if I was an only pet, where I can be top cat. I'm only young so I have lots of living to do. Please come and take home soon.
CRYSTAL - ID 14020 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 07/03/2018 I was found on the road back in May. The ladies said someone must have owned me because I was very friendly and I still am. I've doubled my weight since then and am very much looking forward to going to a loving family who will keep me inside as the road is a very scary place. I hope I don't have to wait too long.
BORIS - ID 14045 - DSH - MALE - 07/12/2017 - I came to the shelter as a stray. I am a very friendly little black young cat. The big boys seem like giants beside me, but I have a big purr that compensates for my size. I am ready for a life full of play in my forever home so hope it comes soon.
COREY - ID 14067 - DSH - MALE - DOB 22/12/2017 - I was surrendered by my owner. I am a very friendly young man with a big purr and lots of personality. What's good about me is I'm a ginger tabby with soft fur. I would like a family to love and care for me forever. I will be eagerly waiting here with the big boys.
Hey there, I'm Finn, or Finley as I'm affectionately called. I am a young and still small kitty, but wow do I have a big attitude!!! I've had a very unsettled start to life but I am so ready for my forever home! Unfortunately I came to the shelter as an orphan at only a couple of weeks old, covered in ringworm. That is a thing of my past now though, and I am healthy and ready for you, if you're ready for me! I am super friendly, fun-loving, and everything's a toy for me! I'm looking for a forever home, someone that will be patient while I learn my ways. Don't get me wrong I've been on foster and my carer loved me, but I do have loads of energy! I love being around people and can be a bit of a trip hazard, as I'll walk in between your legs to keep up! I don't love being picked up (although I'm getting way better at it since my carer only picked me up to give me amazing chin scratches) I just squirm when I'm uncomfortable though, no claws out! After such an unsettled beginning to life, I'm just looking for a secure forever home, where I can be myself and hope there's someone out there to make it happen! If you need any more info just ask the staff (one of them was my foster carer) Much Love, Finley xx
Honey Walks well on a lead and Gets very excited about going out - and just LOVES being out in the car! She Has no problem with other dogs or cats or chooks and ducks. LUCY - ID 13833 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 13/12/2017 My brother Garth ID 13834 and I are the only ones left in our litter and we seem to have been here for a long time. I'm a little shy but I think it's because I have to share with so many big girls. I looking forward to going to a family with lots of love to give. Sharing a cuddle Is high on my to do list. Please come soon I'm growing so fast.
CASSIE - ID 13906 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 19/03/2017 I was surrendered to the shelter as a young adult with my babies and my mum and her new babies. We all went to the one foster carer and we shared and parental duties. Sometimes one of us would feed all the babies. Very confusing for our foster Mum and Dad.I'm not sure about this sharing situation in the female cattery but I'm getting used to it. I like to be patted but not real sure about this picking up business. Maybe I would rather just sit beside you and your family on the couch and sleep on a different bed every night. This is what I dream about. Please make my dreams come true.
CANDY - ID 13910 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 19/03/2015 I was surrendered to the shelter with my babies. Some of them are still waiting or their forever homes LEIA ID 13911, OBI ID 13912 and LUKE ID 13913. My older daughter from a previous litter is here too CASSIE ID 13906. I don't particularly like to be picked up but I still want to be loved and cared for and I would more than likely love to sleep on your bed (what cat doesn't want to cuddle up on a comfy bed). You will find me in the female adult cattery.
KATE - ID 13942 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 07/02/2018 My brothers are(Ned ID 13940 and Sid ID 13941). We were a big litter of 3 girls and 3 boys. Us girls went to one foster carer as we were much smaller than our brothers. Our brothers went to a different foster carer. I'm a very loving girl with a loud purr. Please don't let me wait too long for my forever home.
WOODY - ID 13947 - DSH - MALE - DOB 17/02/2018 There are a lot of us black kittens at the shelter at the moment. Although some people think we are bad luck, that's just not true. I have a shiny soft black coat and underneath that coat a purr machine looking for love. If you have love in your heart, I will purr you to sleep every night.
PENNY - ID 14002 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 30/04/2017 I'm a very pretty girl with a luscious coat. I don't particularly like dogs so best if I don't have to share with one. I was found as a stray but I'm sure I must have had a family. Please come and meet me, I'm in sharing with the other girls. Looking forward to having a forever home.
VINNIE - ID 14082 - DSH - MALE - DOB 01/01/2018 - I was surrendered to the shelter with my sister and brother. My owners thought I was a girl but closer inspection showed that I was a boy. I 'm still a little shy because this is all new to me. But I'm going to be ok in a loving home. Hope It comes along soon.
Hi, I’m Mort – short for Morticia. I’m definitely not kooky or spooky – well, maybe a wee little bit kooky – but that’s part of greyhound charm! I’m a sweet and friendly girl, I’m good with other dogs no matter their size and little humans too. I can get a little bit nervous when I’m on my own, so I’d love a home where I have company most of the time. Maybe you’re retired or work from home? That would be just perfect! A doggy companion would help me a lot too so I’d love it if you had a furry friend for me. Looking for a sweet friend like me? Get in touch at [email protected]
TOBY - ID 13577 - DSH - MALE - DOB 10/10/2015 I came in as a stray but I'm sure I lived in a home. I have been adopted out but then the people changed there mind and swapped me for an old girl cat. This is very confusing to me. I'm a sweet calm boy. Give me a comfy bed and a sunny spot inside your home and you will have a friend for the rest of my days which will be a long time because I'm only 3.
JETT - ID 13909 - DSH - MALE - DOB 19/02/2018 My sisters have already found their forever homes so I think it is my turn now. I have very sleek black fur and a loud purr when I'm happy. I've been at the shelter 3 loooong months but I would prefer to be with a family that will love to play and cuddle me. I hope that happens very soon.
TIGGA - ID 13937 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 04/04/2016 I came to the shelter with a large litter that I was struggling to feed. My kittens when into foster care so I could have a well deserved rest. I'm very friendly pussycat looking forward to a life of cuddles and unconditional love. Please come to the shelter any time we are open to meet me. You will find me in with the big girls.
Hi my name is Lulu and I am a female Tabby DSH. I have been in foster for many months to work on my socialization skills, and check me out now hey! I like to knead my paws when I'm approached by a known human, and I will pop my head up for a chin scratch! I also love head pets, neck tickles and long strokes along my back. I spend most of my time napping as high up as I can get., either on the fans or sitting in hanging creates cuddling with Frodo. Obviously I am still shy, quiet and nervous/skiddish of new things. My new family must understand this and let me come out of my shell in my own time. I love other cats around me now and am able to tolerate small dogs!
INDY - ID 13554 - DSH - FEMALE - 08/09/2016 Indy came to us very young and pregnant. She went straight to a foster carer and the next day gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens. A couple of us witnessed this very special occasion. She was a very good Mumma considering her age. Once the kittens were weaned and back at the shelter Indy was desexed and introduced to the main cattery. For some reason the bossy girls are picking on her so she has gone down to the Quarantine to be with the other shy girls and boys who have the freedom to hide or walk around without harassment. Please ask to see me when you come to visit as I'm a very affectionate girl who is looking forward to living in a home .
TESS - ID 13615 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 06/10/2016 Tess likes to run around the Quarantine with the shy cats. A tiny girl with sleek black fur. She likes to oversee the daily work from on top of the cages until its time to run around and play in the tunnels. Although she has been a Mother she is still a baby herself and is looking forward to a home with lots of activity as long as she can get up high to chill out.
LEO - ID 13718 - DSH - MALE - DOB 06/12/2016 I was found as stray but I'm sure I lived in home because I'm friendly and love a pat and a scratch. I'm still only young so I 'm looking forward to playing with your family. I have a glossy black coat. I came into the shelter at Christmas time so I hoping to be long gone by this Christmas.
LEO 2 - ID 13821 - DSH - MALE - DOB 13/01/2018 I came to the shelter with my mum and brothers and sisters. They have all been adopted now except my mum CINDY # 13818 and me. I'm a big boy for my age. Because we were fostered to a loving family when we were babies I know about a house and the fun you can have in a family. You will find me in with the big boys even though I'm still only a kitten. Come soon, I am growing so fast.
SHARI - ID 13837 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 21/02/2017. I came to the shelter as a stray. I'm an affectionate girl who likes a pat and a scratch under the chin. Black and white is a very popular colour at the shelter this year. So make sure you seek me out. I'm looking forward to finding my forever home.
SID - ID 13941 - DSH - MALE - DOB 07/02/2018 Sid is a very loving snuggly boy. He and his brother Ned have been at the shelter too long. They loved living in a house when they were being fostered as little boys. Sid would love to go to a home where he can be loved and sit in a sunny inside spot for safety. Purring is his speciality.
CHARLOTTE - ID 14018 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 16/05/2017 Charlotte came to the shelter as a stray but someone must have owned her as she was wearing a pretty pink collar. Nobody came looking for her so here she is looking for a home where she will be kept safely inside. She is a young girl who is looking forward to life of fun, play and cuddling up to someone at bedtime.
Hey I'm Dozer! I'm a pretty quiet and relaxed kinda guy. I spend a lot of time sleeping under things-chairs, blankets, sheets- anything! If you walk in that room though, I'll be there to say hello! (and get some pats) FYI I loooove butt scratches!!! I've been known to curl up with some of the shy cats for nap time- I tend to keep away from the bossy ones though, I don't much care for confrontation! I'm friendly, gentle and sweet-what more could you ask for really?!
SOOKIE - ID 13647 - FEMALE - DSH - DOB 01/11/2012. Sookie is a shy girl who is taking a long time to get the hang of this sharing situation she has found herself in. At just over 5 years she is looking for a life without sharing with other pets. We are sure she would settle given the right situation. But for now she is the happiest, looking out at the daily activities, from the safety of her bed.
RACHEL - ID 13806 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 24/11/2017 I'm still a bit frightened of the loud noises, but if you hold me close I will purr and purr and I love belly rubs. I think I'd like to be in a quiet house so I can be number one. I'm desexed and microchipped and my treatments are up to date. So I'm all ready to meet my new person who will hold me close when I need it.
LUKE - ID 13913 - DSH - MALE - DOB 05/02/2018 Hi. I'm Luke (Sky walker). I like to talk a lot so I'll keep you company and you will never be lonely with me around. I love to play and cuddle and purr. Will you give me a forever home and keep me safe inside? I have my paws crossed hoping my day will be very soon.
I am Whiskey! I am one of those happy, glass half full, nothing really phases me type guys. Even getting checked by the vets didn't bother me- I just like the attention really! I love belly rubs, and will never turn down a lower back massage (but who would?!) It'd be pretty hard to wipe the smile off my face- my happy nature is pretty infectious. So come in quick to meet me-you don't want to miss out on having me in your life!
Say Hi to Jess, Jess is the mother of the J Litter. She has been an amazing mum to these pups. She is quite a shy girl but loves to play! Jess is a very chilled, gentle, girl and is very slowly coming out of her shell. She's loves having another dog to play with, and has been very gentle with the kids ❤
BEN - ID 13800 - DSH - MALE - DOB 17/12/2017 I've been at the shelter since I was a tiny baby and I'm growing very fast. Although I'm a Tabby I am different from the others as my coat is more brown and I have spots as well as tripes. Please come to the shelter and meet me I'm a very friendly boy who wants to go to his forever home
Meet Freckles, she is a 2yr old dalmatian x who is learning her manners. Freckles is a very chilled laid back kinda gal who loves to snuggle, nothing better then a nice bone and a sunny patch of grass to relax. She plays with with other dogs and children. Freckles is house trained and enjoys her food. She is not photogenic however 😂 but dont let that fool you she is a beautiful and kind hearted.
BATMAN - ID 13810 - DSH - MALE - DOB 22/12/2016 I was abandoned by my original owner. So when I came to the shelter I was supper friendly to the humans but I don't particularly like the other cats getting any of the attention. I'm a tall sleek boy. I just can't wait to get back out into a home where I can play and be loved.
Ella is a sweet and friendly young dog. She is very excitable but when that top energy has worn off, she simply loves her cuddles and will enjoy spending time curled up next to you. At only 9 months she still shows some puppy manners and will cheekily try and steal your socks or slippers as a souvenir 😉 She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company to keep her busy. She knows some basic commands but is still working on her leash manners. Ella learns quickly but will require further training. She will make a great loyal companion and is looking forward to finding her perfect home. Ask to meet her today💕
Say Hi to Millie Millie is a sweet, loving and affectionate girl. She's very affectionate and loves companionship. Gets on well with other dogs. and child friendly. Enjoys sleeping in the sun but also knows how to chase a ball and loves to play. No BAD HABITS as yet, just normal dog behavior! Millie absolutely loves her food and She’s happy to share treats. Millie’s favourite thing to do is to cuddle up on the lounge after a big play. She may be a little timid at first which is natural but that will disappear with a lot of love..... and food. She would ideally suit in a home where there is another dog and or a person who is home much of the time. This girl loves company 💕
Hi I'm Sasha! 🖐 I am a beautiful medium size staffy mix- 🐾 I have been learning some manners lately, like to walk on my lead with out pulling, to wait untill im told to eat my meals and my recall is getting much better! 💕 I love to cuddle up with my humans, but I also love most other dogs company. I do prefer male dog company but can be with females if im supervised to start with. 🐶 I am still young and full of energy so a active and stimulating home is best for me with older children or children already familiar with a medium to large size. I'm sure the right family is out there for me! Please just come and throw the ball a few times for me, i bet we will get along ❤
Murphy is a loving girl, who wants nothing more than to spend her time resting her head on your lap. Her middle name if she had one would be shadow, she likes nothing more than spending time with her humans. She loves to play, some dogs may find her a bit much, as she is almost like an energiser bunny. She will happily share food and toys with others. She is not house trained but does understand sit, drop, and sometimes stay. Murphy is not a big barker
Say Hi To Rebbie Rebbie is a friendly girl who has heaps of love and kisses to share. Rebbie is dog friendly and loves to play with others. Although Rebbie is excitable she is great with children. Rebble may accidently knock over a toddler, more suited to older children. The carer is currently working on her lead training, and her house training. Rebbie would love an active family who will include her with weekend activities.
Aayden is a very unique girl, who comes with some known vet history which is great! So we know a little about her upfront. She has been known to enjoy chicken for dinner and doesn’t like to share her dinner either. But she loves play time in the run and enjoys her walks with the other dogs. She walks very well on a lead and soft coat!

JOYCE - ID 6305 - STAFFY X - FEMALE - DOB 22/04/2008 - Joyce is one of our longest staying residents at PAA and this is probably due to her preference for the single life! While she doesn't like being around other animals and small children, she gets along well with adults and would make a great companion for them. Joyce loves to play and lay around soaking up the sunshine. Come into the shelter and meet Joyce.
TOOKIE - ID 8053 - STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER - MALE - DOB 19/9/2010. Tookie is a calm natured dog but still has his bursts of energy when someone throws him a ball. PEPPER - ID 10921 - DMH - FEMALE - DOB 28/10/2013 I started out at this shelter as a kitten and then I was adopted and lived with the same family for 4 years. NALA - ID 13073 - DMH - FEMALE - DOB 28/11/2013 I was surrendered to the shelter with my five very new babies. My foster Mum tell me I was a good mum but that's a long time ago now and all my babies have found there forever homes. I have a very luscious long coat with a big bushy tail. I love a scratch around my face and will give you a head butt. I'm probably not suited for very young children. But I would like someone to play and love me for the rest of my life. I am in with the other adult girls so please come and see me soon.
Hi, I'm Jimi and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm a super chill little guy - nothing much phases me and I can entertain myself for hours. My favourite things are: playing with my brother Jaco, chasing toys and snuggling up next to a human for a sleep. I'm curious and love people, and if you plop me onto your lap chances are I'll fall asleep straight away. My nickname is the Pure Machine. I'd love a home with lots of things to play with and someone to give me cuddles. In exchange I'll give you heaps of purrs and be extra cute. Microchip number: 900141000017947
LILIANA - ID 11604 - DSH - DOB 25/09/2014. She is a very intelligent and vocal girl and just loves to play. She is shy at first, but not when she gets to know you,as she loves headrubs and flops on her side ready for pats. She has lots of energy and loves being on top of a cat tree. She doesn't get on with male cats, so would be best suited to a girls only home.
JACK - ID 11901 - DSH - MALE - DOB 24/11/2014. Jack is an energetic, handsome cat who has a lot of love to give to the right person. He picks his people and rewards the chosen ones with endless purrs and affection. Jack is also very busy running from place to place like he's on a mission and will need lots of toys and places to climb and run around. Jack loves other cats but wouldn't be suited to a house with young children and must be indoors only as he will run if he gets frightened by anything.
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Sunny was born 05.08.17. This handsome boy is looking for a new forever home and has a lot of affection to give to his new family. Sunny is very much a lap cat as he loves to constantly give smooches and be given chin scratches and tummy rubs. He is very playful and loves socialisation. Sunny needs a family which would be able to provide him with loads of love, time and attention. He is a medium haired cat and would require his owner to ensure he is groomed regularly to prevent his fur from matting. He has a warm and friendly personality and a sweet meow that he voices often when he wants attention and loves to purr and knead with his paws. He would be suited to either being a single house cat or easily introduced to a multi-cat household. All his vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment and he has tested negative to FIV. In foster care in Cairns. If you'd like to know more about adopting this handsome boy, please email [email protected]
SOPHIE - ID 11590 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 01/12/2013. Sophie came to PAA as a stray with her 3 small babies she was only a baby herself. This is all ancient history now and as time has passed all Sophie ever wants is a belly rub and chin scratches. She has a lovely soft coat and is looking forward to being in a place were she can curl up in the sun and present her tummy for rubbing. 22/01/2018 Update, Sophie was adopted back in October 2017 but was let out after one week and lived on the streets for 3 months and was finally handed in to AWL . Thanks to her microchip we finally got her back as the owner didn't want her. It's imperative that Sophie goes to a home where keeping her inside is not an issue.
MAXINE - ID 11787 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 16/12/2014 I've been at the shelter all my life, nearly 4 years. I was part of a litter and they all were adopted really quickly but I'm a bit shy so I'm still here. I think i'd like to go to a quiet home so I can get to used to it slowly. But I think it is my turn to find love and happiness in a forever home.
TIGERLILLY - ID 11922 - DSH - FEMALE - DOB 01/08/2014. Tigerlilly is a beautiful girl with stunning yellow eyes that may cause you to fall in love at first sight! She is very affectionate and loves pats but isn't so comfortable being picked up. Tigerlilly has a great big purr that doesn't stop and will make a fantastic couch and bed buddy. Because Tigerlilly doesn't like being handled too much she would be best suited to a home with older children. She gets along well with the other girls so wouldn't mind if she had another cat for company.

I am the one you have been looking for! Playing style: claws in, gentle but enthusiastic Favourite toy: bouncy balls Language of love: licks (your nose, face, fingers and toes!) Special talent: vacuuming crumbs off the floor Kids: happy to be picked up by first timers Other pets: YES! The more the merrier Dislikes: patè style kitty food Fun fact: I have a cool white lightning strip down my back, I was once turned into a meme Typical day in the life McQueen: begin the with purrs and kisses, power nap before breakfast, follow people around in case any crumbs hit the floor, attempt once again to enter the dishwasher (just trying to help with chores mum!), observe hooman scooping my poops, show gratitude by trying to get in the way as much as possible, sunshine naps, chase toys, forget what I was doing, stare out the window, flop down on the ground (belly up) after a long day of doing not much, cuddles on the couch, allow small hooman to carrying me around, dinner time!!!, get my paws wet fishing in the bath tub (I have a thing for running water), another nap, hid and seek, knead the softest blanket in the house, bedtime story followed by a good night’s rest This adorably affectionate young man has been in foster care for a few months now. In that time, he has blossomed into the perfect companion. One of our most laid-back foster kittens, McQueen is always keen on making new friends – young and old, feline and canine, and everything in between. He even turned a self-confessed ‘cat hater’ into his #1 fan!! McQueen believes in love at first sight, that is he has the capacity to show his love to anything and anyone who crosses his path. The dope will sometimes give the kitty litter a head-bop for good measure. When you plan on meeting him, come prepared, as his motor like purrs are impossible to resist. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact! Wishing you all the best in your search for the catto of your dreams <3
Hi I'm Buffy! I am a smiley happy girl and let's face it, I am gorgeous! I'm looking for a loving home, with someone that loves life like I do- someone to play with, who will take me for runs on the beach and teach me lots about this world! Karma Is a purebred American Johnson bulldog , 7 years old, very playful if she gets to know you,has not been socialised but has a beautiful cuddly nature. She is a gorgeous white and turtle shell brindle which is quite rare, she is roughly 30lgs and pulls like a train on a lead. She sits when told and lays down on command when she feels like it. She will make someone an awesome pet once she is socialised as she has such a great heart. She is healthy, does not dig as such, likes bones to chew and will eat almost any food she is given.
Say Hi to Romeo 💜 This gorgeous looking guy is available for adoption 😊 Romeo is a Shar Pei X, who is best suited to be an only dog as he prefers all the attention. Must have 6ft fence. He will need to be an inside dog. He walks nicely on the lead, is very food motivated. He just want to please his humans! To ensure Romeo transitions well into his new environment. His new family will be taught training techniques by one of our lovely trainers at our Training Centre. We need to ensure Romeo’s new family continue her training in his new home
This is Smidge! She is a darling, sweet girl, who came to the cattery with her brothers and mum in April. Marvin is one of her brothers and also her best friend. Smidge likes to roll onto her back, stretch out and demand tummy strokes. She is playful and energetic; she goes after anything you throw in the pen. She also likes sniffing and licking shoes (for some reason...) Her perfect family would be a quiet household, which includes another cat (around the same age, maybe Marvin..) for playing/company, green grass (for playing) and big, soft beds. If you'd like to meet Smidge, you can find her lazing around on the cat castle or stretched out against the pen door.
Its a kind of Magic... I am a shy boy...with one dream- and that is to find a home where I can feel safe The staff dont know my history like I do, but I was caught in a trap, and i know they have saved me-but its all quite scary so I'm still trying to learn how to trust. I would love to find a permanent, quiet home, with patient new owners- that can help me understand that I am now safe. I find comfort from other cats and am learning from them, so I definitely think another cat would help me. If you don't have another cat but wish to help me, and could possibly open your heart to two; speak to the staff about adopting me with a friend :)
G'day my name is Andy! I was sadly surrendered to the RSPCA due to no fault of my own. I have had a rough start to life but now I am now on the search for my forever home. I am a fun loving happy guy who is always ready for a cuddle. I know I'd be perfect for you so please come down and meet me today!
Hi there! I am a friendly dog who just wants to have fun! I love to play especially with you. I am very eager to please but sometimes I get a bit too excited and forget my manners, its only because I dont know any better. I have lots to learn and I am very eager to get started! So play with me lots and take me to training it will be worth the extra effort. With a little guidance we can play games we both enjoy and I will make you proud of me.
Hi there! My name is coco! I LOVE running around and doing zoomies, I love people and when the staff arrive in the morning I get really excited and do laps and circles in my kennel. I am a sweet loving girl who loves to play and explore, take me on adventures to the beach or where ever you want to go and I'll love you forever! Once we go and tire ourselves out we can come back home and cuddle while watching your favourite shows! I know I am the perfect companion you've been searching for so come down and meet me today!!
Strong, independent and a little stubborn at times. Yep that is me. I am not the sort of dog for just anyone you know, no siree! I am looking for an owner similar to me really. I need an owner who I can respect and will respect me back. So if you are confident and experienced with dogs and your ready for a challenge come on in and meet me. Treat me with kindness and show me respect and I will be the most loyal friend you will ever have.
Hey my name is Odin and I am a year and a half year old male DSH! I'm a pretty great cat, I spend my days sleeping, grooming, playing with my toys and talking to my neighboring cats. I am very clean and tidy, I never mess up my pen or need a lot of grooming attention from my shelter family. I do not get along well with other cats, so if you are interested in adopting me I must be the only fur baby in the house! If you are interested in adopting me and you have another animal, please speak to staff about my behavior and options we can take to ensure I have a relaxing, fulfilling life as a family pet and companion animal.
Meet lovely little Maverick! Maverick is a 15 week old Cattle x Staffy who loves kids of all ages, dogs & even cats! Maverick is very happy chasing either his foster brother or the kids around the back yard but he’s not sure how to chase a ball just yet! He loves a good game of tug-of-war & he really loves a good nap after all of the playing! Maverick is being crate trained & he will happily totter into his crate on his own at bedtime and sleep all night. Maverick is house trained but does have the occasional accident. He loves being in the car in fact he uses the opportunity to have another nap! We are expecting Maverick will grow to be a medium to large dog 🐶🐾🐾
Marvin is a very sweet boy, and if you are looking for a loving companion animal he is perfect for you! Marvin would best be suited to a quiet household with or without other cats. We normally find him scaling the railings to find himself the perfect place to curl up and sleep for hours. He is gentle towards other cats, humans, children and little kittens. Marvin came in with his sister, Smidge, and they have both been at the RSPCA since April. They are very close and still share their bed. So if you are looking for a gentle companion animal for you, or your equally gentle family, Marvin is perfect for you! (Or Marvin + Smidge....)
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Matilda was born about a year ago and was just a new mumma when her owner dumped her in a box with her five kittens. A good samaritan rescued her and she raised her babies with us. She is so forgiving. Matilda is the most affectionate and easy going little girl and her babies are just the same. She has the look of a tiny Mayne Coon, which she wouldn't be of course, but that gives you an idea of her appearance. Her nature is lovely. Not a mean bone in her body and she would just adore being a spoiled house cat giving and receiving lots of love. All her vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccination, flea and worm treatment and she has tested negative to FIV. Matilda is In foster care in Millaa Milllaa. If you're interested in adopting this beautiful girl, please email [email protected]
***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Zeke was born 17.07.18. Along with his mum Matilda and four siblings, he was found dumped in a box. A good samaritan rescued the family and they came to us. Zeke is such a pretty boy and very affectionate. He loves to cuddle after he's played a while. His coat is soft and silky and full of pretty colours. All the bubs have been raised by their loving mum and are very friendly towards people and reasonably used to seeing dogs around. Because their mum is so friendly and forgiving, they've never been taught to be fearful of humans. They have been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated as well as being flea and worm treated regularly. In foster care in Millaa Millaa. ***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Zane was born 17.07.18. Along with his mum Matilda and four siblings, he was found dumped in a box. A good samaritan rescued the family and they came to us. Zane is a bit camera shy, but that's just that "big eye" staring at him. Put the camera away and he is just the sweetest little boy. He has beautiful markings and again, that lovely soft and silky coat. ***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Zelda was born 17.07.18. Along with her mum Matilda and four siblings, she was found dumped in a box. A good samaritan rescued the family and they came to us. Zelda is the only girl in the litter and she is a bit of a princess. . in the nicest way of course. Her coat, although not as long as her brothers, is very thick and bouncy. Lovely to stroke. Zelda is just as cuddly and friendly as her brothers. ***INDOOR ONLY KITTY*** Zanda was born 17.07.18. Along with his mum Matilda and four siblings, he was found dumped in a box. A good samaritan rescued the family and they came to us. Zanda is the short haired boy but what spectacular markings he has to make up for that. This kitten, with longhair, would be half as pretty. Zanda looks like a Zebra but that's where the similarity ends. He is full of adventure and fun but at the same time is just as affectionate as the rest. . ***SPECIAL NEEDS DOG ON TREATMENT FOR HEARTWORM*** ***LOOKING FOR A FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME *** We believe Sir Henry is a purebred Dalmatian although, without any evidence, we can't guarantee it. We can say he is fairly typical of the breed and a really good natured boy eager to please. He gets on well with other dogs, but can't be trusted with cats. We are unsure about any other animals, but he loves people and kids and tolerates a small puppy with sharp teeth playing rough with him. He listens well, walks well on a lead and is a pleasure to be with. He has to have extremely secure fencing though as he has been known to leap over a 6' fence without touching it. Only to smell the flowers next door, never wandering at all. He is currently coping very well with being enclosed in a courtyard while he is undergoing treatment for heartworm which necessitates keeping him very quiet and not excited. Mind you he is not an excitable sort of dog (unless he spots a cat). For such a young dog, it's hard to imagine how he could have a burden of mature worms but after treatment, he should live a long, healthy life. We could find a foster home for him to finish his treatment but he has been moved a lot in his previous life and we think it would be more beneficial to him to have a family of his own to see him through. Preferably with someone who might be home all day as he does love company. and will need supervision during treatment. We will pay for all the medication, treatment and vet work that he'll need and hopefully, come Christmas, it will nearly all be over. At this stage he is showing no symptoms at all and we wouldn't have known if we didn't test all our new dogs. All his routine vetwork is done which includes desexing, vaccination and microchip. He is dewormed and flead and so healthy and happy it's hard to keep this good man down. Sir Henry is In foster care in Millaa Milllaa. Roxy is a dear older girl around 7 years but she's in very good condition, bright and healthy. Her previous owner said she is a Labrador cross and it's easy to see there is something else there however, her nature is very docile and sweet as most Lab girls are. Roxy is very tolerant of all creatures, great and small. Totally trustworthy with the pup, our cats and our other small dogs. She is keen to go after scrub turkeys on walks, but is very easily dissuaded. She's not at all excitable or pushy and would make a lovely companion for an older person or a family. She wouldn't mind, as long as she is loved and cared for she'll be happy. All her vetwork has been done which includes desexing, microchip vaccination, worm and flea treatment and she has tested free of heartworm. In foster care in Cairns.
