Animal for Adoption
Abby is just a young girl. Her age will be guestimated when she is seen by our vet, Abby was rescued from the pound and is now with her carer in Cairns who is working with her training. She's an active pup who will need a fair amount of exercise to keep her happy so an active family willing to spend a lot of time with her would be ideal. She is not cat friendly although she doesn't want to attack them, but will taunt and chase them until she is trained to leave them alone. Abby's very strong and exuberant so her best chance of fitting in and being appreciated for the lovely girl that she is, would be with a family with older children who won't be overwhelmed and love to play with her. Because of her age, strength and need of training, we feel she should not be left home alone for more than a few hours a day. We're calling for expressions of interest only at this stage as she hasn't seen our vet or been desexed yet. We expect she'll be ready for her new home in a week or so. Pound Paws is a registered charity. It uses modern social media tools to make potential pet owners more aware of, and help re-home, animals in pounds.
It is our mission to encourage the public to adopt instead of shop, and discourage backyard breeders that contribute to the oversupply of dogs and cats in Australia.
