About Pound Paws
Pound Paws features on The Living Room
Pound Paws is an Australian based registered charity.
It provides a modern online approach to the overall re-homing process for pets available for adoption in pound & rescue centres around Australia.
It is our mission to encourage the public to adopt instead of shop, reduce the amount of pets on death row per year, educate the Australian public about responsible pet ownership & create a positive movement for our furry friends.
In addition, the website is an online search engine which allows potential owners to search for pets by breed, age, lifestyle or size.Pound Paws provides its services to potential pet owners and pounds for no charge.
It is supported by volunteers, and sponsors and donations help fund its operations.
Pound Paws commenced in early 2014 as a desperate measure to help re-home animals that find themselves on death row each year.

Pound Paws is not only focused on re-homing these animals, but educating the public about death row and the importance of choosing to adopt. It is our mission to encourage the potential pet owners to adopt instead of shop, and break the stereotype that pounds are full of ‘reject’ pets.
Through raising awareness online, we hope to educate and inform the public, and hopefully reduce the euthanasia cycle.We are collaborating with pounds and rescue groups from all over Australia to provide you with the latest listings daily.
We have volunteer photographers / videographers all over Australia who visit these shelters and provide them with free images + videos to help promote them online. We want to break the stereotype that pounds are 'scary' places and instead, help promote them in a positive manner.
We also host dog adoption events every month in different locations around Australia.
We look forward to helping you find your new furry friend.
The Board
Brittany Bloomer is the Founder of Pound Paws.
The other non-executive members of the board include specialist advisors, and together form a mature and experienced team, who all provide their services at no charge to Pound Paws.
Brittany Bloomer - Founder & CEO
Brittany has been actively involved in Animal Welfare since the young age of 14. From volunteering her time at rescue shelters to hosting fundraisers at school, she has always been passionate about making a difference in the local community.
Brittany combines her love for animals, with skills in social media, marketing, and public relations.
Cara Inia - Vice President
Cara is a professional operations manager in the not-for-profit sector. Cara’s knowledge of not-for-profits, community engagement and events are particularly relevant to Pound Paws.
Martin Talvari - Director
Martin has played a key role in building innovation communities in Europe, Asia Pacific and Americas, first through Slush.org, a tech event that has grown to become one of the world’s largest tech events with a total 40,000 attendees, and most recently through Myriad.org, a tech event he started in Australia. Martin created and led the internationally recognized campaign Myriad Air, which charted a jumbo jet from San Francisco to Brisbane for the first time in history, backed by the CEO of Qantas Mr. Joyce. Martin holds a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering.
Pete Haselhurst - Director
Pete is a passionate and driven entrepreneur, whose big ideas have led him to achieve his impressive business portfolio. With over ten years experience working in various hospitality and large event roles. Pete today owns and operates a portfolio within a number of sectors including: Milky Lane, F45 Training, Beach Fit Bondi, Lost Paradise, Lost Picnic and several others.
Crystal Lynn - Director
As a patron of several charities across Australia and Asia, Crystal made one of her life missions to help those that are less fortunate. She is especially passionate about helping disadvantaged women, children and animals. She strongly believes in strategic philanthropy.
Franki Russell - Director
Franki is an actress and social media influencer. She has been a regular volunteer at Pound Paws Dog Days since its first event in 2016. She is enthusiastic to help grow the charity and nurture on-going opportunities. She loves animals and can’t wait to adopt her own one day.
