(March 22, 2019) – Pawssum, the innovative service that provides access to
quality home vet services from the comfort of home, announces today a partnership
with Pound Paws, a charity that provides a modern online approach to the
re-homing of pets in Australian pounds & rescue centres. The goal of the
partnership is to not only encourage pet adoption, but to educate new pet
owners about pet health.
Both parties provide a similar modern online approach, when it comes to relieving stress for pets & their owners, by allowing users to partake in the early stages of the adoption/vet enquiry process all online.
Pawssum aims to disrupt the $4B vet care industry in Australia, by providing more personalised pet care for pet owners and a better work opportunity for vets. Now servicing pets nationwide, Pawssum have grown exponentially quarter on quarter. They are looking for both individuals as well as more strategic investments to help them further their business growth and expansion. In this round of investment, they will be considering any investment over 50k up to $1.2mil.They will be donating 5% of investment funds to Pound Paws charity as well as contributing $20 towards every Pawssum vet visit for Pound Paws new rescue pet owners. In addition to this, Pawssum will be offering a comprehensive and affordable health plan package to all Pound Paws rescue pets in order to encourage on-going pet health for saved animals.
Over 250,000 healthy dogs and cats are euthanised every year in Australia. It is Pound Paws mission to reduce this number, by educating the public about pet adoption & responsible pet ownership, as well as providing a link between homeless pets & potential pet owners, through their websites online search engine. Pawssum supports pet adoption and is happy to back this course, to help give animals a second chance.
“Pawssum was founded with the goal of bridging the gap between pet owners and convenient veterinary care, and we are excited to partner with a nonprofit organization like Pound Paws that shares our modern approach for caring for pets. Pet adoption is a mission that is near and dear to our hearts and we encourage anyone who is thinking of bringing a pet home to visit a local animal shelter”, says Guy Sharabi, Co-Founder of Pawssum.

Founded by Guy Sharabi and Barry Green in 2016, the idea was inspired by a friend who had a sick pet at home with her son, with no available vets in the area to make a house visit. Pawssum was then launched with the mission to provide pet owners affordable, available and accessible home vet services. To date Pawssum vets have serviced over 5500 pets at home with over 130 vet partners across Australia. For more information visit pawssum.com.au or follow on Instagram and Twitter @pawssum.
